The Annual Emerging Europe M&A Report 2022/23 Collaborated with CMS

EMIS, along with leading global law firm CMS, has released the 12th edition of the annual Emerging Europe M&A report for 2022/23 edition of the annual Emerging Europe M&A Report for 2022/23.

London, January 2023 – EMIS is proud to have collaborated with CMS for the annual Emerging Europe M&A Report 2022/23. The report looks into key trends by country/sector and the key drivers behind current deal-making: which markets are busiest, which industries are the most lucrative, and where investments are originating.

“Despite Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the deal-making in Emerging Europe kept the momentum going in 2022 with volumes peaking at a four-year high of 1,229 transactions, up by 5.6% y-o-y. Constrained by macroeconomic headwinds, the total deal value shrank by over 20% y/y to EUR 32.9bn, returning to pre-pandemic levels even though the megadeals fell out of favour” said Velizar Velikov, Head of EMIS M&A Database.

This year, the Emerging Europe M&A Report focuses on th e impact of Russia's invasion on Ukraine's economy and M&A market, digital acceleration and growing population of “unicorns” in Emerging Europe, the increasing use of W&I insurance in deal negotiations and more.
